Persons resident in the border regions

Persons resident in the regions of Norway, Schleswig-Holstein, Scania, Halland or Blekinge can enter Denmark regardless of the purpose of their entry. If your region does not comply with the criteria for being open, you must have a worthy purpose of entering. Otherwise, you must present a negative COVID-19 test upon entry.

Is your region open or closed

 

Upon entry into Denmark, you must provide proof that you are habitually resident in the regions of Norway, Schleswig-Holstein, Scania, Halland or Blekinge. 

 

Relevant documents

A relevant official ID document with your address and a passport.

Moreover, you must provide proof of the region in which the address on your ID document is located, such as a printout from a digital map on which your address is plotted and which shows the region in which your address is located.

 

Test and illness

If your region does not comply with the criteria for being open and you do not have a worthy purpose, you must present proof of a negative COVID-19 test carried out no more than 72 hours before your entry into Denmark.

Foreigners who want to enter Denmark and show clear symptoms, such as dry cough and fever, will be refused entry at the border irrespective of the purpose of their entry.


Hotlines to the authorities

Foreigners arriving in Denmark will be refused entry into Denmark at all internal and external borders unless they comply with the entry requirements.

If you cannot find an answer to your question on the website, you can call the dedicated hotline of the Danish police to get an answer to your question about worthy purposes of entry into to or transit through Denmark.
