Authorised control centres

It costs DKK 5,000 to obtain authorisation as a provider of security guard services. Irrespective of whether there are any changes or not, a renewal of the authorisation also costs DKK 5,000.

 

Changes that are subject to a fee of DKK 3,000

• Changes to the name of the business
• Changes to the business address
• Changes to the tasks of the business compared with the existing authorisation
  
  

Changes that are not subject to a fee but must be notified to the police

• Changes to the executive management
• Changes to the board of directors

 

Changes to the provider of security guard services must be notified to the police within two weeks of the implementation of the changes.

You can only apply for authorisation of a municipal security patrol officer if your authorisation contains the authorisation type 'performs tasks as a security patrol officer'. You can see from your authorisation from the police whether you have that type of authorisation. If so, you can apply for authorisation of a municipal security patrol officer.

A security patrol officer may only work through a local authority. As a provider of security guard services, you must therefore contract with a local authority before an authorised municipal security patrol officer is allowed to carry out the job. When carrying out his or her duties, a municipal security patrol officer must wear a special security patrol officer uniform. It is the responsibility of the local authority to supply its security patrol officers in the streets with uniforms that meet the requirements.

• You must be resident in Denmark
• You must be at least 25 years old
• You must not be legally incapable
• You must not have filed for suspension of payments or be in bankruptcy
• You must not have considerable overdue debts to public sector bodies, such as amounts in the order of DKK 50,000 or more
• You must not have been convicted of a criminal offence indicating an immediate risk of abuse of the access to carry out security guard services
• You must be capable of providing security guard services in a secure and proper manner and in accordance with good sector practice

Security guard services require authorisation when:

• persons at the business, either by their own or their employees' presence, by use of dogs or CCTV, monitor private premises or premises to which the general public has access
• the business transports valuable assets
• the business offers protection of other individuals
• the business receives and acts on alerts from personal attack alarms or burglar alarms
• the business supervises other businesses that are engaged in the activities mentioned above
• the business carries out activities as security patrol officers
• the business enters into agreements on onward billing of security guard services
