Extensive background check of airport staff

It is often mandatory to undergo an extensive background check if you are to work at an airport or with an airline or will handle cargo, supplies, etc., in an airport.

Apply for authorisation as a provider of security guard services

If you want to provide security guard services or run a control centre, you must obtain authorisation from the police.
Apply for a sporting event security guard ID card

If you want to be authorised as a security guard for certain sporting events, you must apply for a sporting event security guard ID card.
Apply for doorman ID card

If you want to work as a licensed doorman at premises selling alcohol or at other premises open to the general public but with access control, you will need to be issued with a doorman ID card from the police.

You will need authorisation from the police if you want to run a debt collection agency.

On 1 May 2024, a new three-year trial period came into force giving local authorities the opportunity to use security patrol officers to assist the police in maintaining peace and order in public places.
