Police districts

The Kingdom of Denmark consists of a total of 15 police districts. Denmark is divided into 12 geographical police districts, while Faroe Islands Police and Greenland Police each form a police district. The 15th police district is the Special Crime Unit, which is a nationwide investigative unit established in 2022.

Your place of residence in Denmark determines which police district you belong to, but you must always report a crime to the police district in which the crime was committed. If you report online or call 112 or +45 114, we make sure that your case gets to the right police district.

North Zealand Police

North Zealand Police serves Allerød, Egedal, Fredensborg, Frederikssund, Furesø, Gentofte, Gribskov, Halsnæs, Helsingør, Hillerød, Hørsholm, Lyngby-Taarbæk and Rudersdal municipalities.

South Jutland Police

South Jutland Police serves Esbjerg, Haderslev, Sønderborg, Tønder, Varde, Vejen, Aabenraa and Fanø municipalities.

South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police

South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police serves Slagelse, Sorø, Næstved, Faxe, Vordingborg, Guldborgsund and Lolland municipalities.

South East Jutland Police

Western Copenhagen Police

National Special Crime Unit

The National Special Crime Unit strengthens the efforts by the Danish police against the most complex economic crime, organised crime and cybercrime.

Faroe Islands Police

The Faroe Islands are one unified police district, Faroe Island Police, which covers the Faroe Islands' 29 municipalities.

Greenland Police

Greenland is one unified police district, which covers Greenland's five municipalities.
