Apply for a licence to import/export weapons and ammunition

If you need to register a large volume of weapons, weapon components or ammunition that you want to import into or export out of Denmark, you must fill in the form below. The form has been developed by the Administrative Centre of the Police (Politiets Administrative Center) in cooperation with a large Danish importer of weapons and makes it possible to provide all the statutory information in one go.

You need to log in using your MitID or eID for businesses.

In connection with the import of weapons or weapon components into Denmark, you must also provide the following information:

Information about the seller

Name
AddressCountry

Weapon data

Serial numbers of weapons and weapon components
Type of weapon
Make
Model
Loading system
Calibre
Length of barrel (measured from muzzle to rear end of chamber)
Total length of weapon (measured from stock to muzzle)

In connection with the export of weapons or weapon components out of Denmark, you must also provide the following information:

Information about the buyer/recipient

Name
Address
Country

Weapon data

Serial numbers of weapons and weapon components
Type of weapon
Make
Model
Loading system
Calibre
Length of barrel (measured from muzzle to rear end of chamber)
Total length of weapon (measured from stock to muzzle).

Import licence from recipient country

- Possibly an import licence from the recipient country or proof from the relevant authority that the item does not require a licence

What should I do if I do not have MitID or eID?

If you have a European company you will be able to use your country's electronical identification (eID) to access the form.

If your business does not have MitID or eID, you must send the information that we need to process your application by letter. See contact details.

However, please be aware that the processing time will be considerably longer if you choose to send your application by letter. The reasons are that sending the application by letter increases the risk of errors, that we must spend more time on manually entering your data in the system and that the delivery time for letters is typically up to five days.

How much does it cost to apply for a weapon certificate?

An application for permission to import/export weapons is free of charge.

When will I receive a reply?

Once you have submitted the online form, you will receive a receipt through Digital Post.

We will endeavour to process your application within one to two weeks. However, case processing times may be longer during peak periods.

If we need any further information for the purpose of your application, we will contact you. Otherwise, you will receive our decision by Digital Post.
