Cancel weapon certificate

You need to log in using MitID or eID.

You will need the file number of the certificate that you want to cancel.

All citizens in Denmark aged 15 or older can obtain MitID. If you do not have one now, you can order one through your bank or at borger.dk. 

 

If you are a European citizen, you will be able to use your country's electronic identification (eID) to access the form.

If you do not have MitID or eID, you can contact the Administrative Centre of the Police on +45 7020 1473 with information about what you wish to apply for.

 

However, please be aware that an application done without using the self-service solution and without MitID-login or eID-login will prolong the processing time considerably.

Manual entering an application will increase the risk of errors. Subsequently, we will need more time on entering the data, and any fees must be registered on the case manually.

Requesting a cancellation of a certificate is free of charge.

Once you have submitted your request for a cancellation of your weapon certificate, you will receive a receipt through Digital Post and you need not do any more.

The receipt is your proof that you have requested a cancellation of your weapon certificate. We will only contact you if we have questions concerning your request.

A weapon certificate can be cancelled if it has not been granted for a specific weapon,
such as a collection of pointed and sharp weapons.

A co-owner certificate for a specific weapon can also be cancelled if another owner has a valid certificate for the same weapon.

Conversely, you cannot cancel a certificate for a specific weapon if you are the sole owner of/the only person holding a certificate for that specific weapon.
